What Are Welcome Pages?



As a host how you welcome your guests is a major part of crafting your guest experience. Not giving guests whole, accurate and up to date information about their stay as part of the welcome experience, can result in problems for your guests. This could be as annoying as not being able to find the place or as serious as not being able to work the fire properly. 

It is important then to ensure guests receive all the information they need for their stay, and in a way that is in keeping with a smooth guest experience. To do this some hosts have resorted to multiple page pdfs in order to get all the information they need to across, others send it via lengthy emails and texts. 

Placer have built an alternative option that is simple to use and allows hosts to build beautiful guest experiences that hosts can monetise. 

It works like this:

- Add your listing to the Placer site and create a new welcome page.

- Input all the relevant information for guests about their stay. For example: check in / check out times, address with directions, and house rules. Remember to leave out any sensitive information such as lockbox codes and send them separately.

-  Your welcome page will be generated and you can copy the URL and send to your guests instead of those lengthy pdfs, texts and emails!

Any placement campaigns you are accepted on by brands will automatically appear under the 'shop the look' section of your welcome page, meaning guests can purchase those products. On some campaigns this will result in commission. There will be more ways to monetise welcome pages for hosts in the near future. 

Not only is a Placer welcome page more convenient than sending guest information in traditional ways, you can actually earn money from using them.

What Is A Placement Campaign?

Placer is a site where short stay hosts can get free and discounted products from all manner of brands: large, growing, international and local. Brands want to reach guests in beautiful environments and so are willing to discount their products or even provide them for free.  So how does this work on Placer? Offers are where a brand offers a discount to hosts on their products, usually through a code obtained through the Placer website. Discounts range from 15% - 40% currently but more brands will be adding more discounts in the coming months that may be even more significant.
