How To Open Your Listing Post COVID




It has been a long time since the pandemic first broke and hosts were forced to shutter their listings around the world. But with vaccination programs now in full swing across the globe there is light at the end of the tunnel. 
How can hosts ensure they are re-opening to guests in the best possible way, creating a balance between safety and guest experience? Ultimately if hosts are too careful they run the risk of ruining the guest experience. Guests do not want to turn up to a 20 page questionnaire about the purpose of their visit and if they have been tested or vaccinated recently. 
Of course the flexibility hosts have on this will be dependant on what is mandated by the government of the country in which they operate, and hosts should always keep up to date with what the rules are. 
The best way to strike this balance is to integrate safety into the guest experience with maximum luxury and minimum hassle for the guest.
For example, complementary luxury hand sanitiser near the entrance to a listing provides safety without inconvenience. Being upfront about the details you will require, such as vaccination or testing certificates should this be required and requesting these ahead of time can save hassle for the guests on arrival.
Complementary disposable masks could be made available should the guests forget their masks, which could cause issues when they want to visit the local bars, shops or restaurants.
Some guests may be initially wary about staying in short stay accommodation, and who can blame them after so long being confined to their residence, coupled with the prospect of catching a scary virus! Put their minds at ease by emphasising your rigorous cleaning process on your listing profile. 
Finally can you make your guest greeting and send off processes socially distanced? If you can take care of all the details without having to physically meet your guests, this may be better until people are more at ease.
